Barriers to Relapse

In order to break an addiction, you need to break the patterns associated with the addiction. In order to do that you need to first identify those patterns, and then come up with rules that keep you from falling into them. This is what protects you from having your brain go into “autopilot” mode and crash you right into relapse.

In this video I describe how to identify these patterns, set up rules to stop you from falling into them, and also how to create an emergency break that you can pull if you feel yourself getting caught up in an urge.
